God has blessed me very much and I thank Him everyday for allowing me, over the years, to visit and work from such wonderful places in His great outdoors! He is such an amazing artist that my pictures do not do Him justice.

About Me

I make my living these days helping my clients achieve their online objectives. While the technical term might be web developer or software engineer, writing code is only one part of what I bring to the table. Being successful online requires much more than just being technically savvy.

Don't get me wrong, I am technically savvy.... VERY MUCH SO! I can install a web or database server, including hardware and software, with the best of them and it will be tuned better than you ever expected. I can design, develop and maintain software and database applications capable of doing things that will make your head spin. I use only industry standard Best Practices and I am quite capable of working alone or in a team of development professionals. I have even managed teams and the entire development process all from my remote office.

But where I really excel is helping my clients shape or improve their online business ideas. I bring to the table a wealth of knowledge that includes such things as SEO strategies, site content design as well as deployment strategies and marketing.

Mastery of the technology is one thing. Getting results and enjoying a successful and lucrative venture online is quite another. Many of my clients refer to me as online "jack of all trades". And get this... I haven't met most of my clients face-to-face! Isn't technology grand?! This is the way a truly professional telecommuter works!

This site was developed using a combination of Joomla, Flash, PHP, CSS, HTML and Javascript. It is deployed on a Windows Server using Apache Web Server software and a MySQL database server on the backend.

So there you have it... a brief example of what I do for my clients, at least in regards to the technologies I prefer to work with. There is, of course, much more. If you are curious to learn more about me professionally, then by all means, feel free to have a look at my resume. If you think you might be interested in offering me a job, then please use the Contact Me form and I will be in touch as soon as possible.

If you're still stumbling over the "but he's not going to be here in my office every day" mentality... then please allow me to be so bold as to suggest you read a great book entitled, "The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich" by Timothy Ferriss.

This book was #1 on the bestsellers list for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today. You can believe me when I tell you, the 29-year old smart-ass author will change your life if you just read his book! Don't let the title of the book fool you... I work a lot more than 4 hours per week. I just work where I want to using technology correctly.

Personal Life

While web development may define what I currently do for a living, it does not define me as a whole. With that said, here are some random blurbs about me if you care to know.

--- I'm proud to call myself a Christian and spend most of my free time helping with our "feeding centers" in Guatemala where we presently help feed over 700 children three times per week. You can read more about this on my ministry website.

--- I enjoy fishing more than most people do. I usually stink at it, but I do love it, especially when it involves taking children along.

--- I'm all about a great meal with great friends, good music and conversation. When in Fort Worth, I'm always up for a dinner at Texas de Brazil or Frescos Cocina Mexicana! Especially if you're buying.

--- I love to travel. Duh. Have you seen the photos above? I have an unwavering need to experience new places, new things, new people and hopefully learn something along the way. My wife says it's Adult A.D.D., but she sure seems to enjoy all the places we go. I'm just saying. ;)

--- I love children. I spend as much time as possible with them, especially those who are less fortunate than others. I believe we have a duty as human beings to understand why there are so many orphans in the world and do everything in our power to help them!

--- I once got all wrapped up in my possessions and status symbols. It was a gross display of a rather nasty character flaw I once had. Having traveled all over this wonderful big blue marble called Earth, I think I actually have learned something. It's no longer about the things I have, but the places and people I can be with.

--- I have to admit it though, I am still a "truck snob" deep down. If it isn't a Ford, then why did you buy it?! ;) The bigger, the better. I bleed "Oval Blue" if you really want to know.

--- I don't have any musical talent but I love music. I prefer County music because I like the stories the writers tell and because I know a few performers.

--- I consider myself an entreprenuer at heart and I've never been afraid to do without. If you have the fear of doing without, then you shouldn't take the risk.

--- I love to write poetry and songs. Maybe I'll post some here when I get the nerve.

Past Life

In my past life, I was a Soldier in the United States Army. I joined because I couldn't find a job anywhere else when I was fresh out of high school. But I loved it! It was, without doubt, the single best thing that ever happened to my professional career. It was the springboard that formed a lot of how I see this world and my place in it.

For several years after leaving the Army, I worked as a private body guard mostly for Country music stars. This is where I came to know Neal McCoy (see my photos... I have one of him in the rotation).

I used to host a radio talk show in Austin Texas. Click here to see me behind the microphone in one of worst photos that has ever been taken of me. ;)

My wife and I started a small chain of indoor amusement centers for children but sold it after becoming disciples of Timothy Ferriss (see book suggestion above).

Future Plans

My wife and I want to build a children's ranch. We want to give every child we can, a taste of what is really out there in the great outdoors!

Our plan is be completely self-sustaining and live entirely off-the-grid.
